Since 1 January 2018, Brussels has been a Low Emission Zone (LEZ). The LEZ aims to gradually ban the circulation of the most polluting vehicles (cars, vans and buses) in order to improve air quality and the health of people in the Brussels Region. As provided for by the legislation, Brussels Environment publishes an annual evaluation report on the compliance, impact and relevance of the LEZ modus operandi in the BCR. This report takes stock of the LEZ in 2023. The reports for the years 2018 to 2022 are available on the website www.lez.brussels. |
