| Mots-clés : | BAMB construction économie circulaire ressources | Résumé : | This synthesis report provides a snapshot of the current context and known opportunities and barriers to a circular building sector, reversible building design and Materials Passports. The main technical, economic, financial, environmental, legal, spatial and logistic drivers/causes for the known (types of) actors within the current value chain have been investigated.
Focusing on the European context, and the countries involved within the BAMB project, it investigated: value chain at building product level and building level ; building information modelling (BIM); commonly used methods to refurbish and maintain buildings for major construction types; causes of demolition of buildings and major maintenance needs; construction and demolition waste estimates; re-use potential of buildings, components and materials within the existing buildings stock; solutions to accelerate reuse; initiatives and regulations; financial and business models.
This is a publication of the European project “Buildings as Material Banks” (BAMB, 9/2015-2/2019, www.bamb2020.eu) coordinated by Brussels Environment, which received funding from the EU Horizon 2020 research & innovation programme.

| Mots-clés : | BAMB construction économie circulaire ressources conception | Résumé : | This report describes how BAMB implemented more than 300 electronic Material Passports as a one stop shop for material information. Materials Passports developed in BAMB are sets of data describing defined characteristics of materials in products that give them value for recovery and reuse.
Their aim is to: increase or keep the value of materials, products and components over time; create incentives for suppliers to produce healthy, sustainable & circular materials/building products; support materials choices in Reversible Building Design projects; make it easier for developers, managers & renovators to choose healthy, sustainable & circular building materials; facilitate reversed logistics & take back of products, materials & components.
